The house that used to be the areas elementary school and built in the '70 has kept its charm and was changed into a hotel 2004.  The surroundings are rural and beautiful with mountain, ocean and lake view and endless possibilities of enjoying nature. Icelands biggest seal habitant is just around the corner and draws many curious traveller.  Interesting rock formations the biggest one "Hvítserkur" give the area a special attraction for travellers. The peninsula that is one of Icelands "hidden places" is also a paradise for birds and thereby birdwatchers because of its untouched nature.

We offer personal services with price range that suits everyones needs, welcoming both backpackers and those who want more service. With 15 rooms there of 8 with en-suite bathroom and space for up to 35 people in the house. The hotel is a member of the Icelandic Travel Industry Association (SAF).

The name Borgarvirki stems from historic ruins close by, a fort build by nature on a hilltop with ancient ruins, there are stories of it being used from the Viking era and is a very special place to visit
